Horticulture and Natural Resources

Welcome to the HNR Department

The Department of Horticulture and Natural Resources at Kansas State University has a long and strong history of providing an excellent undergraduate education in Horticulture, Park Management and Conservation, and Wildlife and Outdoor Enterprise Management. These majors lead to a variety of career options such as landscape designer, parks superintendent, golf course manager, hunting/fishing resort manager, shooting sports facility manager, and grower of horticultural crops. We welcome you to explore our degree programs and student activities that make our programs some of the biggest and best in the United States.

We offer a Minor in Horticulture for students interested in including horticultural expertise in their college education.

We also offer graduate degree programs that lead to a M.S. or Ph.D. in Horticulture. Our graduate faculty guide student research in areas including horticultural therapy, plant stress physiology, turf science, and applied research with ornamental crops.
