Internship Placement Agreement

How can an internship benefit your organization?
Many horticultural companies simply enjoy the rewards of sharing their expertise and take pleasure in serving as mentors. In addition, horticulture students are good employees, they are highly motivated to learn, and love working with plants and getting dirty. Internships are seasonal and temporary serving as a good source of labor when most horticultural organizations need extra help. Internships are a proven, cost-effective way to recruit and evaluate students for potential long-term employment. Internships also bridge the gap between academia and industry; resulting in long-lasting relationships and opportunities to learn and share with each other. Provisions of the Internship Program:

Employer agrees to the following:

  • Enable the intern to gain experience in a variety of areas within the company
  • Evaluate the intern during and at the completion of the experience
  • Contact the academic advisor if there are any problems with the interns’ performance
  • Allow the opportunity for the intern to grow both professional and personally
