Bio

Amrita Mukherjee is an MS student in Horticulture Science with an emphasis on Post-Harvest Physiology of fresh produce in Kansas State University, Olathe supervised by Dr. Eleni Pliakoni. Mukherjee obtained her Bachelor's degree from Khulna University, Bangladesh. Her research interests are focusing on pre-harvest factors affecting postharvest quality. Her current MS research project investigating the effect of different plastic mulches on pre-harvest and postharvest quality and economic potential of strawberries growing under high tunnels in Kansas. Amrita Mukherjee previously worked for the Horticulture Innovation Lab, at UCDAVIS team as an assistant specialist in Bangladesh, where she locally leads the Horticulture Innovation Lab project focused on examining nutrition impacts of horticultural innovations, in collaboration with the Nutrition Innovation Lab. In her free time, Amrita loves to watch movies, cooking, and enjoy time outdoors!
