Horticulture and Natural Resources

Clubs and Activities

K-State Horticulture students benefit from many opportunities to travel and network, get hands-on experience, and develop leadership skills outside the classroom through their participation in our program's variety of clubs and organizations.

The Horticulture Club grows greenhouse crops for fund-raising sales, hosts industry-leaders as speakers at meetings, and sponsors teams to travel to regional and national competitions. These annual events, such as the National Collegiate Landscape Competition, place our students among the best in American horticulture and connect them to top internship and career opportunities.

The K-State Chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association (GCSAA) provides our Golf Course & Sports Turf Management students with outstanding travel and networking opportunities at the local, state, regional and national levels. Our close association with Colbert Hills Golf Course provides our students a linkage to a world-class golf course management facility.

K-State Horticulture students who excel academically are invited to membership in Pi Alpha Xi, the Honor Society for Horticulture.
